OUR VISION
In the late 1800's, the Cincinnati riverfront was a beehive of activity. Down at the Public Landing dozens of steamboats were coming and going and the docks were jammed with cargo, stevedores, roustabouts, passengers, riverboat captains and crews. Just a bit up river, the Fulton District was busy building more steamboats than any other place on the inland waterways.
It was during this time that a young man from Missouri arrived on the scene intent on earning his captain's license. Although he never did, he later earned international fame as America's favorite author and humorist; and he also earned an enduring place in the hearts of Cincinnatians for his oft quoted, insightful observation of us: "If the world came to an end, I'd rather be in Cincinnati than anywhere else because it will take at least ten years for them to get the word."
Slow or not, much has happened in Cincinnati since then. For one, the steamboats are gone; and about ten years ago Fulton became Adam's Landing. However, true to Mark's prediction, it has indeed taken ten years since the opening of the Adams Place condominiums for the word to get out to Cincinnatians that Adams Landing is the place to be.
Thus it is with great pride and pleasure, and a nod to Mark - that Towne Properties presents the newest addition to Adams Landing ... Captain's Watch. |
